I also wanna bring back the dangerous fangy predator teeth that military machines have. Some time ago, I had mentioned that the war machines carried predatory instinct-like natures, as they are the lions, tigers, bears, wolves of the living vehicle world regardless of their demeanor. Â Part of the way i show this is by giveing them big tungsten carbide teeth. I havent done this fully since the petra pic, and the scene with Dempsey in the book store because someone had remarked that it made them look “evil”. However, I think the huge teeth make them sexy, its more true of a representation.. Even if it makes them scarier. Â This “charecterisation of long beach is a gentle guy, but make no mistake he is an attacker as well.
Full disclosure: I used a photograph to get the main hull proportions right, and the super structure. This was mainly a means to save time, The rest were lines I either made up or plugged in based on said, old photo.
Haven’t done a color ship pic yet. I know I kept saying id do the Bismarck for months, but I fell in love with the Long beach instead. (RIP) You are alive and well in Atoll lab along with your brother and sister. But honestly, warships are so complicated I’m not sure I ever want to do a cruiser + again tho. I ended up making up a lot of the lines due to shitty source photos. The only pictures available were grainy, small, or too simplistic for what I needed. Arizona is Pennsylvania’s little sibling. Also sunk unfortunately. There are a ton of great ships that were lost, most of which were just thrown away after WW2.

Poor thing, sank after 10 days with an ill-trained crew, faulty armament and construction (it was rushed) and is a lot shorter than I thought. I imagined something like an Akaga but no, it was more like the Hyiru carrier. Wiki says 47 aircraft but it was sailing to be fitted with aircraft and other needed utilities. Shame, coulda been a heavy air threat to the allies.
It is to this day the largest ship ever sunk by a submarine.

Well.., you can’t say they aren’t sexy.., well you might but I can’t. Anyway the North Carolina isn’t sunk, nor any of the Iowa classes. Well the Arizona is a very nice looking ship and she’s sunk. Oh the Constitiution isn’t sunk nor the Victory and I’d bone them. The Fusos are gone, all the New Yorks are gone, the WWII Yorktown carriers are gone, some Fletcher’s are still around.
See? I’m not into just sunken ships.

Yeah I get you Ratbat. The Bismark is a messy looking ship to draw but when you study for a long time you’ll realize that it isn’t that cluttered; it’s just the railing and the cranes and cables and that sort of things that make it look hard. I’ve drawm an accurate Bismarck out of the back of my mind before. All it takes is a good bit of dedication and study. Again, I don’t blame you.

You could argue that all ships (particularly warships) would be androgynous and hermaphroditic, if not outright female – to my knowledge, very few ships have ever been addressed as being male.
Apparently’s all of Russia Ships are addressed male. (but their navy is in tatters atm) anyway, i guess that’s the acceptation to the rule.

had a model of a ship, don’t remember what it was exactly but it had an absurd number of little parts that had to be put in specific-places in combination with other little pieces…its one i haven’t finished and seams to have dissipated into the void.
The amadale is quite interesting, looks like a mid way point between a PT boat and a cruiser? at least from the two pictures i could find. it looks frigging awesome and cuddly
