Oh my god, I’m so sorry for not responding sooner! I didn’t even notice this comment for months.
Yeah, I use Pixiv from time to time. I was following that Russian guy who drew a mech picture every day for almost three years, the dedication there was crazy. I generally don’t like how you have to make an account to use the site correctly and I really don’t like how you have to pay to get all the features, but there are a lot of great mecha artists on there. People shit on DA a lot, but that site has good mecha artists as well.
As for my art? I’m nowhere near as good as you and I don’t really draw robots, but here are a few things I made.
As you can probably tell, I’m quite a novice artist. I drew all of those after making that post, by the way.
What are you doing these days that you don’t have time to draw? Work, I assume. Has COVID impacted it in any way?
@Anon: I wouldn’t worry about being late to the party. My ass lives on Discord and I forget to check the website fairly often. I personally love pixiv (except for the part where you have to pay to amend your files. That part sucks big dick) but the japanese have a much higher standard of quality (most likely due to cultural expectations then anything). Though DA does have its amazing artists too.. I think you’ll find many of them have left to post on art station. Leaving a swath of novice artists in its wake.
Speaking of novice, is that your ff9 art? I love vivi! Best character. You play through the ff7 remake at all?.
Covid has impacted me directly in the worst way. I lost my job on march 28th. Things are looking grim in part because the bottom half of the economy dropped out. Hospitals/urgent care facilities/ surgical centers/ and orthopedic clinics have either shut down, or are loosing millions of dollars daily because theyve had to cancel all non-essential procedures. (The stuff that hospitals rely upon to pay the bills) so Im back to job hunting May 1st If I don’t get that phonecall from my old buisness. It really sucks ass and Im bored out of my mind.

Hey RB, I’m the guy from /m/ who asked you to draw that Zaku. I didn’t say it then, but I’ve followed your art since at least 2007. You’re genuinely one of my favorite artists and one of the people who inspired me to draw. Your art made me get into mecha anime. You might mostly draw different kinds of content to what you drew 12 years ago, but I still have fond memories of trying to save your old artwork from 4chan and each one taking several minutes to complete because of my terrible internet connection.
This sounds silly, but I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you actually drawing a request of mine, even if it was just a simple proof of who you said you were. It reminds me of the old 2000’s drawings you used to do.
@zaku : Dude this Is the kindest message you could leave. Thank you very much! Not many people left who remember my old 00’ year work (I was prolific around that time and coming off of the Gundam.com forums of old).
I actually just assumed you were always into mecha based on your name sake (Zaku) but I encourage you to show more of your stuff if you like. I don’t have much time to draw these days, but I still keep an eye out for hot sexy machines. Mechaphillia never goes away really. You on pixiv? That’s where all the good mech stuff is now.

I know the art not done yet but look amazing and also the your artwork you posted up so far. Not sure if ever said this to you before I have to complement you for the way you made this big guy has a grasp on his women and having him wrapped her in his care. This probably sounding bit weird for a guy like me saying that but is something I enjoyed from you a lot stuff like the hand grabbing and the hair tugging and many tendadril wrapping around the body is really sweet way of them bonding with each other.

Too many use my art to scare their friends with (lol crazy rule 34). But very few people notice the joy the 2 typically feel. That one is in the service of anouther, in the service of the thing they love deeply. The multy-limb mecha-dendrite action with the hand holding and hair grabbing- this is what 2 people in love do. I think all art should tell a story, and in porn, a little love and affection are very hard to find. In this comic your doing now is there just one big kingdom or is it dispersed with different kingdoms with each different kingdom being a different country make like one kingdom being only American planes and another our beloved Russians if you do things like that? ( sorry for asking I’m the type of guy who loves reading more of the lore of a story than the story itself)
The details are a little abstract in the prince tomcat story because it’s meant to be a post-humanity world that’s tongue and cheek in places. Their are many kingdoms, republics, dynasty’s, ect. Each one represents a manufacturer. You could say the sukhoi, tuppolev, mikoyanG kingdoms are all in the Russia/Ukraine area. BAE located around the British isles, Rhinemetal somewhere in the German Forrest.. it’s not necessary for all machines in a single kingdom to be of a single manufacturer. It’s a 70/30 split usually, with the peseants and surfs being civilian vehicles ect.
I’m sorry if I look like the generic guy that only wants porn I just wanted to know how they would do it so thanks. I kinda am now tempted to put a story together about the two though.

I like to get people thinking about biology and other internal concepts. It also helps me revisit and work through my own narrative.
As usual, I’d say if your putting in the time, you should write the story you want to read and never worry about us.

I think this is because you picked up a lot of furry fans from all your your art gets posted on e621. They’re into the anthro aspect, not the machine aspect.
The way you aesthetically draw them, such as the Astute-class submarine in Demifolkstudy.png, is also reminiscent of how some furry artists draw dragons.
You could probably change this if you gave your art greater emphasis on machinery. I mean outside of the Dire machine universe, because I know doing that would conflict with the lore you’ve built.
@nine : I think you’ve hit the nail on the head actually. It’s why a lot of furries backed off from hydrothrax’s art once she went semi full-real with her machine biology. I Was considering doing porn where a little man in a conductors hat fucks a female diesel train. Doesn’t get much more non-animal machiney then that!

Sex with Dire machines is very easy. (It has to be because these things are so big and dangerous they could easy destroy each other). Machine to machine sex looks very mechanical. Plug n’ play where a probe or a port deploys and reaches out for the other. It’s not the animalistic sex extravaganza you are looking for. To get that, you need to pair a Dire with a human, cyber armor, or Demi folk who need regular forms of motion to receive climax.
A Demi tank can just find the bombers probe and fuck it like a human would do it.
